I am a woman of faith...
Throughout my life, the Catholic faith has always been deeply rooted in me. I was baptized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Downey, CA, the church where my parents were happily married. My parents wanted me to have an everlasting relationship with God and carry that faith throughout my life.
Throughout my life, the Catholic faith has always been deeply rooted in me. I was baptized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Downey, CA, the church where my parents were happily married. My parents wanted me to have an everlasting relationship with God and carry that faith throughout my life.
At the age of eight, I wanted to continue my faith and prosper in the eyes of God through my First Communion. I remember being excited to attend my First Communion classes and I not only created a bond with God, but I also grew close to many friends whom I still have today. After two years, I officially created a relationship with God and understood what it meant to be Catholic. I felt completely immersed in my faith and knew I had the willingness to carry it out through my life.
In life we all have challenges. I believe all challenges create room for change. As I grew up, I started to separate myself from God and question my faith. I searched for answers. Throughout during my journey, I realized that I needed to dig deeper and I needed to be honest with God by opening up my heart and soul to him. When I came to Saint Joseph High School, I found my faith. I found faith through sisterhood, and the patience, love, and hope my friends and the staff gave me. I regained my trust and faith in God once again. I believe I can learn from my obstacles and there is always room for change. Being a part of the religious community at Saint Joseph, I took part in giving praise to God through reading a sermon at the Mother-Daughter brunch. I loved reading the word of God and giving grace to the lovely afternoon we cherished with our families.
